Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Jessica spent most of her spare time writing. Drawn into slasher films, she thought if one could manipulate your mind into believing monsters lived under your bed – then one could use writing to change lives for good.

She attained her BFA in Creative Writing, from Florida State University, and moved to Los Angeles to receive her MFA in Screenwriting. With the support of her siblings, she moved three time zones away, to grow as a writer.

From dabbling in poetry to writing novels, there are short and long forms of prose for everyone to enjoy. Jessica signs her poetry, “Lavawroteit,” paying tribute to her mother, Lavanie.
